| Libyan Journal of Medicine (ljm) is a peer-reviewed, Open Access, international medical journal aiming to promote health and health education by publishing high-quality medical research and data in the different disciplines of medicine. ljm was founded in 2006 by a group of enthusiastic physicians and scientists who looked at the contribution of Arab and African publications to the international medical literature and saw that a publication outlet was missing. To fill this gap they launched ljm as a tool for transferring current medical knowledge to and from colleagues in developing countries, particularly Arab and African countries, as well as internationally. As of 2010 ljm is published by Co-Action Publishing. The journal enjoys support as well as recognition from the international medical community. |
| The Editors of ljm welcome: Original articles: reports containing data from original and experimental studies. Reviews: comprehensive, authoritative articles on a well-defined topic within the journal's scope. Case reports: reports of clinical cases of educational value, describing a diagnostic or therapeutic dilemma, suggesting an association, or presenting an important adverse reaction. Brief communications: brief reports of data from original research, usually about 1500 words. ABC-articles: a paper written for medical students and a general audience on a disease, procedure or treatment. Invited editorials: provide focused commentary and analysis on a topic of interest to ljm readers. These articles may be up to 1,400 words and may include 1 figure or table. Letters to the Editor: letters in response to an article in ljm or on a topic of current interest, usually not more than 250 words. A maximum of 3 authors may be listed on a letter, and up to 10 references and 1 figure or table may be included. If accepted, Letters are subject to editing and shortening without further notice. Special articles: feature content that does not fit in the aforementioned categories and may cover any topic of interest to ljm readers. These articles are full-length papers consisting of detailed descriptions of the problem, the approach, the findings, and appropriate discussion, and must include an abstract. | WHY PUBLISH WITH ljm?
